ABOUT
Zack Dornfeld is a composer and multi-instrumentalist living in New York City. He is known for his emotional, memorable and layered scores for film and theatre, as well as his YouTube channel, which features his original work and arrangements of iconic music. Zack’s most notable film credit is the African feature-length horror film Chioma (Adomibridge Studios). Other notable works and credits include the short films Sinkhole and Joshua: Son of God (FenderBender Films), as well as the upcoming film Girl Clown (Little Fairy Films).
Zack's music and sound work was heard in various theatrical productions in New York City such as The Exonerated, Fallen Angels, and Exit the King. He was the music director for The Marvelous Wonderettes, in which he taught melodies and harmonies to the actors involved in the play. Zack has helped arrange music for the alternative rock band Streetwise, and has composed and produced the pop record “Run Away” released by Dissfilm and the album “Ethereal Beats” from Indie Chameleon Records, which is available on all streaming platforms.
Zack graduated from New York University in 2021 with a Master’s in Music. He also attended Stony Brook University as a recipient of the Bright Lights Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in clarinet. He studied under the instruction of world-renowned clarinetists Lawrence Sobol and Alan Kay, and has been the principal clarinetist in multiple ensembles throughout New York. He is also skillful in keyboard and saxophone, and has studied under composer Robbie Teehan.
